Variety belonging to the Pennisetum clandestinum species, commonly called Kikuyu or thick grass.
It is the most aggressive of the C4 species per seed and the one with the shortest dormancy period.
It has a thick leaf texture and shows a high resistance to salinity, heat and drought, adapting to any type of soil. It can be sown alone or in mixtures with a recommended dose of 5 to 10 grams per square meter.
It is not usually reseeded, entering dormancy later than fine grass and hardly turns brown in winter.
It is used in public and private gardens with very low maintenance, being especially suitable for maritime areas and near the beach, as well as for urban gardening in a Mediterranean climate, revegetation and erosion control.
